The Demonstration School of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University

           The first day of observation, I had to go around the demostration school of Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University. I met with some teacher there and I was introducing my self as a student from Indonesia. They are so friendly and very kind. This school has six grades, in thailand it name is prathom one until prathom sixth. They are study about math, chinese, science and etc.

Some student can speak english well. It is good for primary school student. In this school all of student are neat. For example all of student do not wear their shoes entering the class and they are arranged neatly.

         They have good manajement classroom. We can find the class rules, media study, and textbooks neatly arranged. Each class has a different seat arrangements. Some classes make up the seat by the U pattern, and other classes are setting the seat in rows facing forward. Overall look at the management calss in Indonesia, but there are one table by one student. Every class have three desk for teacher, one of which is a teaching desk, it is setting in front of the class, then two of them are classroom teaching desk to put their stuff. Each class have student’s glass to drink a glass of water that has supplied schools, there is also a toothbrush for every student who used after the lunch hour. In the back corner there is a storage box pensil so that student who forgot to bring their pencil can use it and they will put it back after class.

            On the next day of observation, that day I foccused observe teaching methods and the culture of this school. First of all they do ceremony to respecting their national flag and pray together. Then the teacher would announced something like today the teacher announced that there are students throwed away a shoes from upstairs to downstairs and that shoes belonged to other student. So the teacher give punishment to the students who did it. They are female student, but some teacher said that one of them is naughty. And the for all student who not dicipline get punishment too.

After that the student will make a line to get into classroom and other teacher will ready in the classroom to teach. Today there are only three grade that still stay at the school since prathom 4, 5, 6 are going to camp. Every student have an attitude, for example if they are meet with their teacher, they will respect by holding their hands up untill close to their face and say “sawasdee”. Before the student entering their classroom, they will arranged their shoes in front of their classroom, so it will look neatly.

Before starting the lesson, the teacher will prepared the students. Some teacher will starting their class by playing a game, so all student are ready to study and get their spirit. In my observation I will foccused with two subjects are Math and ASEAN. The teacher uses several methods during class time. They use Thailand language because all of student will understand well if the lesson are description by Thailand language. So I got my problem, how to teach this class by english language ?. But, that is the challenge and I will get the solve !
